About Us
In May of 2012, Derrick Salveson established STE Engineering | SalveTECH LLC to provide individualized and tailored civil | structural engineering support services directly to Owner’s, Architect’s, Contractor’s and Developer’s in Montana and North Dakota. Since inception, STE has worked on a variety of projects from design throughout construction and is dedicated to continually serving each client with a superb level of care. STE realizes that each project has its own unique challenges and as our level of involvement with each project may vary, our commitment to making it a success will always be our top priority.
Derrick Salveson – Principal
Derrick Salveson is a native of Bismarck North Dakota. He moved to Bozeman in the summer of 2000 to explore the mountains of Montana and pursue a degree in engineering at Montana State University. In 2005 he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and since then has continuously worked on building his career in construction support services and construction contracting. Over the years Derrick has performed many roles on various types of construction projects ranging in size from less than $10K to more than $30M across the United States. From
laborer on a landscaping crew at the age of 16, independent carpenter throughout college, design engineer on multi-million dollar mountain homes, field engineer | assistant project manager on large capital municipal infrastructure projects, and construction manager of commercial developments in ND and MT Derrick has developed the skills and expertise to become licensed as a Professional Engineer. As a licensed engineer Derrick is held to to highest degree of standards of professional practice and it is his main goal to provide each client with individualized and tailored solutions to correspond directly with project requirements throughout design and construction.
Outside of work Derrick engages himself in a variety of extra curricular activities around the Bozeman community. He has volunteered with non profit organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Gallatin Valley Skate Association, and Eagle Mount in mentoring the upcoming generation of Montana achievers. He has helped build houses with Habit For Humanity and has donated time and services to public agencies around ND and MT.
As an avid outdoors men, Derrick can be found fishing for trout in the summer, chasing elk in the fall, finding that secret stash of powder in the winter, and finding that perfect rapid in the spring. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, wood working, traveling and continuing a life long pursuit of continuing education and passion.
